These pieces are 100% made in the USA from USA sourced and hand selected Hard Woods such as Hickory, Hard Maple, Oak or Ash which is the same wood used for baseball bats, hammer and axe handles etc. and can take a real kinetic beating unlike most other wood used for this application. The pieces that we make are manufactured at a tighter tolerance compared to the standard mil spec stuff (final fitting may be required), and have been re engineered and bolstered with thicker walls in the internal dimensions where possible. The inner channel for the lower hand guard has been redesigned to fit much more snugly around the barrel and trunnion/receiver area, increasing the internal width of the wood and its overall durability significantly! The mounting points have also been improved for more solid mounting and increased integrity to prevent wobble or coming loose over time. The upper hand guard does not utilize or need a retainer clip, and is also re engineered and bolstered with thicker walls in the internal dimensions so the wood hugs the gastube more closely, instead of fitting loosely and needing a retainer clip to poorly take up the typical wobble. The pistol grip utilized the standard 3.75" AK pistol grip that should have already come with your firearm. I have a lot more options in a variety of different styles and finishes than shown here and prices range based on 2, 3, or 4 pieces set and the style/finish wanted.
