I have used the HFXC for along time and its a great unit if you need visible flashlight. I did get a chance to test the new Trinity unit under nods last week and I REALLY like the IR illumination. These are insane units at this price point and surpass somogear in every way. The aluminum construction looks and feels super rugged. I highly suggest turning either unit to full power upon receiving (tons of videos out there. Just the push of a few buttons at once). The Trinity no longer ships with a cr123a battery thanks to someone trying to recharge and lithium one about burning their house down. All the details on that is on page.
