The SMSc is the compact version of an updated classic and is made of reinforced polymer compared to the original SMS. The SMSc is made from a glass fiber reinforced nylon polymer and a hard dip acrylic lens for added resistance to the daily rigors of shooting. Thanks to its incredibly low profile and unobtrusive rear iron sight notch design, shooters can still aim with standard iron sights thanks to its iconic design. It continues Shield's philosophy of making its users better shooters by eliminating the unnecessary and providing the shooter with only one point of focus. There is no large sight housing to block the view, no darkened lenses, no switches or backup sights to block the view. Shield manufactures their sights to sit as close to the barrel line as possible, where a skilled shooter would naturally point their pistol, allowing for a seamless transition and a familiar but enhanced shooting experience.
