This barrel has a mid-length gas system and a reduced gas port for dedicated suppressed use with the M4-Recce suppressor. This will provide a less gassy and softer shooting experience when compared to the original. In addition, the barrel takes lessons from the Mk12 system and gives the M4 recce collar a step to sit against instead of relying solely on a set screw to hold the collar in place. This is a more repeatable and robust system when compared to the original method. The kit includes an AE Low-Profile Gasblock that is designed to be friction fit with AE barrels. This to provide an enhanced seal around the gas-port leading to more reliable gassing. **The gasblock might need to be heated up for proper fitment. Installation might lead to some blemishes on the gas journal** In addition, the kit includes an AE mid-length gastube which has critical dimensions verified to within a .001″ window. Finally, the kit ships with the M4 recce collar which is used to mount the M4-Recce suppressor.
